Decked Out Bakery Donuts

  • Store-bought cake doughnuts or doughnut holes (1 tub of icing will cover 9-12 doughnuts or
    18-20 doughnut holes)
  • Microwave-safe bowls (1 for each color choice)
  • 1 tub Over the Top white buttercream icing
  • 1 tub Over the Top chocolate buttercream icing
  • Over the Top concentrated color gels in primary party or neon green
  • Over the Top icing spatula
  • Your choice of Over the Top sanding sugars, edible
  • Confetti and assorted six-cells for decorating
  • Waxed paper
  1. Use store-bought doughnuts or doughnut holes.
  2. Divide buttercream icings into bowls. Add one drop of color gel and mix well. Continue adding drops of color gel to achieve desired shade. Place each bowl separately into microwave and heat in 10-second intervals, stirring until icing has consistency of syrup. If needed, add a little water to thin icing.
  3. Dip doughnut into icing. Twist doughnut one-quarter turn to adhere icing.
  4. Hold doughnut, decorated side down, over icing bowl to eliminate excess icing. Place doughnuts, decorated side up, on waxed paper to set.
  5. Before icing dries, sprinkle with sugars, confetti and candies.
  6. To stripe: select icing in contrasting colors and melt in microwave. Dip spatula into the icing and drizzle over doughnuts.
  7. Repeat steps above for doughnut holes.
